By chance I found one of Ray Jardine's packs on offerup for 25 bucks! Thanks "Jim" for the amazing pack and I will put it to good use! I know many that aren't a fan of Golite but I am, I still am. I always will be. I found another one here maybe 3 to 5 years ago, bought that one. lol.gif Maybe I need to go into treatment?

I still have tons of Coups stuff, packs, clothes and other equipment. It was all, and still is, great stuff. Unfortunately Coup was an avid hiker, but not the most savvy marketing person.

Ray's book was was a game changer for me. The trails can be rough enough, why carry unnecessary heavy gear? Only when I climb high and camp high with minimalist gear do I curse myself for this mistake... Possibly going minimalist through life, could be a lesson? Less things and more experiences?

Good book, notwithstanding his fascination with corn pasta. There is so many vendors of ultralight gear now, getting to base weights of under 14 pounds with full comfort isn’t really a challenge. There are a lot of trade offs (and cost) to get silly light around 8 pounds base weight.
