Saw him in San Francisco. I have noted a couple of times that while going to UCB, I worked weekends at a record store that sold SF concert tickets. The "store" was given two to four comp tickets to the Fillmore and Avalon shows each week. So many great shows..... If I close my eyes and take a deep breath I can hear the music and see the light show (and smell the SMOKE). It really was a unique time. Some day I may write a book about hiking and late 60's and early 70's rock music.

This thread has been quiet for a while. Gonna go ahead and get it going again. I'm not a big fan of the Stones, but they of course have some good songs. I heard this recently for the first time, it's not one that was in regular rotation on classic rock or oldie goldie stations when I was growing up. A bit different for them (very heavily Beatles influenced?). I quite like it.

Grimes is an oddball, but I like quite a few of her songs. I heard this several times before the lyrics sunk in. Huh, kinda surprising. The original video is shot in front of a green screen so she (and anyone else) could add anything in the background for subsequent versions of it. This was of course before she gave birth to the baby w/ the unpronounceable name (look it up).

This started popping up on one of my Pandora stations. They are a bit hit and miss, but I like several of their songs.

I have to be in the right mood for it, but off and on I really enjoy this heavily synthesized electronic stuff by a DJ/producer that goes out and gets some completely unknown vocalist to collab with, like this guy:

I went down the rabbit hole with symphonic and goth metal several years ago. This was the first band that really hooked me.
This HAS to be the best metal song ever featuring part of a speech by Winston Churchill...although maybe the only song that can claim that. rolleyes.gif (this is a fan made video that is a mashup of a bunch of their videos; if it seems totally random, that's why)
one more

A smattering of other songs from the genre. It's very much a European thing, and for whatever reason Netherlands is ground zero. (skip ahead about a minute for the music to start in this first one)

This band too. A bit different than the other Euro metal bands I highlighted.

I went down another rabbit hole with You Tube cover artists last night. I'd run across Violet Orlandi before. She does a bunch of collabs, so that led me to several others. Here's a bunch of them all together, doing some Queen.

Galimatias for the really, really chill sounds. This song for example.
I’ve also been watching a lot of snowboard movies and found “Torstein Horgmo’s Playlist” on Spotify, which then took me to discovering really cool songs, like this one by Maybird:
Anything that puts me in a dreamy mood and helps drift off into a state that’s not the hustle-bustle here and now of a mundane day.

And speaking of covers, have we gone down this rabbit hole yet? These guys are awesome, and the videos are hilarious. This is my favorite by them so far:
