Do you mean the one near Red Gulch? When was the last time you were up there?

I mean't Gulch Lakes that I saw goats above, not Silver Lake.

It has probably been 10+ years since I have been in there.

Was it yellow? No, I did not see it. I did hike to the meadow areas above Gulch Lakes. Not a huge area but very picturesque. Wasn't up there either.

Dumb Question, but what route do you take to Gulch Lakes? The topo map shows a 'fun' track up, up, and up from the from the old roadbed. Last time I went past there, I don't remember seeing any trail other than a scramble up the stream bed
For too many years I gazed at the Cascades and other mountains as they taunted me and I said "...Someday..." Now I find I'm running out of somedays...

We used to go up where the road splits, down to a big campsite or keep going to mineral city. If you go up the mountain at that split, and keep to the north, you'll come to the outflow stream and just keep going up from there. No trail.

Thanks, I think. Now I'm going to have to get up there. Sounds fun .

It's not a bad climb. And really not that much brush, some but I've wacked through way worse. I've been up twice.
