After just returning from Mt Tommy Thompson, I decided to go for another solo effort to some seldom-climbed peaks. I'd been wanting to return to this area after climbing Misch 10 years ago with Andy Boos (via Kindy Creek) and have always wanted to do this traverse. Some amazing scenery but a very difficult route for sure, not for the faint of heart! There is lots of info on the route so I won't go into detail, but the section after lake 5371 is definitely the worst of it...lots of holding onto blueberries for dear life! The smoke was bad from the Downey Creek fire across the valley and the wind was ferocious just as I was summiting Buckindy. The final scramble is some serious pucker factor! No registers found on either peak, I'm guessing its been a few years?
Right on! Not to hijack your TR but i'm super intrigued by TT. Curious what route you approached from?
I was just looking at how iron-red and presumable chossy Buckindy looked from the Boulder area a couple weekends ago. It looks surprisingly solid from your pictures
Nice burly trip! I really became interested in Buckindy after seeing it from Snowking earlier this year. Looks like quite an adventure! Thanks for the report.

Some places are solid but mostly very chossy. I am impressed people have climbed those crazy towers! The last scramble on Buckindy was extremely exposed and loose!
