Ive been following your trailcam posts on and off and just wanted to say I really enjoy them. Are these all in the teanaway area? This year including super early starts and overnights I've been out in the teanaway 7 nights and have only come across deer. In the day I feel like I have open eyes for spotting tracks but haven't noticed any wild paws. It's good to know to watch out for them though

Thanks for the kind words Ross. Happy to know lots of folks are enjoying these. To answer your question, yes. All in the Teanaway area. I'm out in the Teanaway all the time with my eyes to the ground looking for sign. I often strike out. When I do notice sign, I'll return to that spot again & again to verify if the animal is using that path regularly or just a transient passer-by. I've been doing it long enough now, that I know where some seasonal trails are and some of these species traveling patterns & habits.

I think Bootpathguy is posting his cameras at a lower elevation. The lower elevations of the Teanaway area, south of the crest, are on reasonably productive sedimentary soils. Lots of food for wildlife. The higher areas along the crest are serpentine. I have spent a lot of time up there over the years, but I never ever see much wildlife or wildlife sign. Bears in particular are rare up there, even the rodents are few. Plenty of mountain goats around Ingalls Lake though.

Is that a cow elk or just a calf? Huge size difference!

I believe that's a 1 1/2 year old calf

Some more amazing shots and videos BPG!! Thanks for posting! Some very impressive bulls! Coincidentally (or maybe not a coincidence), the first day I have heard elk bugle this season in the Icicle canyon was last Wednesday, Sept 16, at around 6:00 AM - the same date as your recording. I love this time of year!!
