Two yesterday in the NW part of MRNP. Also saw one earlier this summer on the North side of Mt Adams.

4 more. At the moment, a mother and 3 cubs are going through the neighbor's trash again.

0 for us, but we haven't been out at all. Typically, it averages 5 or 6 a season, though sometimes none while other times lots. Fortunately, we have a resident bear in our new neighborhood. We've only seen his scat, but neighbors have seen it crossing our road several times. I did encounter 2 bull elk while walking along the road.

Hmmm, I haven't kept a count, but I would estimate about fifteen or so. I spent about 35 days in the Olympics this summer and sighted many. I have to thank my spouse for most of the initial sightings because I have very low vission. The furthest away was about a quarter mile or so in the LaCrosse Basin. The closest was a young bear about ten feet away at Wolf Bar along the N Fork Quinault. Surprised both of us. Rumi

It was in Isaan Province, Thailand. A couple of years ago I retired to Thailand. My fiance(now my wife) and myself visited her family at their small village, a couple of months ago. My wife showed me around carrying a 4 foot pole. I asked about the pole and she simply said "Snakes" Sure enough....she was right!!!!! eek.gif It was on a path between the village and a agricultural field.

Very interesting. Thanks. I would 'bearly' be able to endure a hike in that place, what with cobras flashing their hoods and fangs like that. ( you win the "walking with cobras" division, hands down! And definitely a hijacked.gif .)

I have a good idea where you saw them. My friend got them on a game cam. The sow looked huge in picture next to his garbage can. She was a disappointed bear cause his can was empty.
