Weather has been pretty tame since then... hopefully he took that classic wrong turn and is down in the mid fork just lost.

Saw a couple SAR crews in jeeps heading up the Middle Fork road on Wednesday to continue the search.

Just that the Snow Lake trail is expected to be closed for the next few days for searches.

My partner traveled to Upper Wildcat Lake and back on Tuesday afternoon and didn't see anything noteworthy. But also he didn't know to look while out there.
I hope SAR can find missing hiker.

I wonder if he made a last minute change in plans and went somewhere else from the parking lot (Cave Ridge? Source Lake drainage?).

An eyewitness placed him on the trail up to Gem on Sunday afternoon, per a Facebook post in one of the links in this thread.
This is a mystery, particularly in that it involves a super popular trail and a dog as well. Very sad.

With the weather this cold and miserable (rain, and snow, and near freezing nighttime temperatures) , I shudder at the thought of someone being injured up in the high country without proper food, clothing, water and shelter. A horrifying thought.
I hope this story ends well, that the man is found alive and can be nursed back to health.

It's odd his dog hasn't come out.
