We also have a wind advisory on the east side of the mountains. I was going to "camp" by Winthrop but the forecast mentioned snow and even a bit maybe for there. It is raining here in the Okanogan.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

"Afternoon" came a bit early out here in Verlot, gusting winds woke me up about 730 am...it's scary out here when it blows, lots of trees to possibly come down, some huge cottonwoods and I have two really big spruce trees on my property.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

It gusts like crazy, then just stops, rinse and repeat.

Our power has flickered off and on (clocks flashing) but only for a few brief moments thus far. there's a LOT of brown foliage falling from the many big red cedars we have around our house. I'm hoping (a likely futile thought) that this will be the big round of crap falling from our trees so I don't have to clean gutters ditches etc. repeatedly this fall. I suspect the woods around here are getting a good round of "wind pruning" from this event. I don't plan to walk the dog through the woods this afternoon. Edited to add: just after submitting the paragraph above, the power flickered again and I heard the telltale sound of a frying generator in the distance. And then suddenly it's just calm and sunny. For this minute...

wind is blasting in the U district. Feels like I'm on top of Grand Pass...

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

"frying generator"? I guess I'll ask what this is. Something I've not heard of or a typo of some sort?
