I departed the Seattle area with stops planned on the way to Colorado to join my wife. Unfortunately, as soon as I left I encountered some pretty frigid conditions....3 days of single digits in the day, down to -9 at night. My poor van could not keep up with these consistent temps and resulted in a cracked T fitting in the water manifold, which is in the rear of the van. No quick fixes, so I'm waterless. That's the Woe. Here's the Wonder:

Amazing pictures! Seems like a great time to visit Yellowstone in spit of the cold, such beautiful scenery and probably not many people.

Great photos, thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about the RV/van water situation. I winterized my class B last Thursday - maybe paranoid, but better safe than sorry.

The Solis is touted as winter capable...in fact it can maintain a 60 degree temp differential, which isn't bad for this relatively inexpensive van. However, the water manifold is positioned at the rear door and turns out there is no insulation in the rear panel cavity there...cheaping out? Oversight? perhaps sales talk? Probably any or all of the above. At -9 degrees, the cold will find a way in through any gaps for sure.

Yeah, -9 degrees is pretty damn cold! Did you camp? If so, which campground?
We plan to eventually get a van/class b with zero external plumbing/water fixtures. Even with that setup, I'm going to be very careful when it gets significantly below freezing. Hope you can get it repaired without too much pain or cost.

All the water lines and tank are inside the cabin...the gray water tank is heated. It’s a different ball game when the temps get below 0 degrees, you can be sure I’m going to do some supplemental insulating. The rig is still under warranty.
