It might be a tad early but here is the link to find avy forecasts for around here: https://nwac.us/ Way way back when I lived in Calgary for two years--and skied 200 days in those two winters--my method for finding safe places to ski was to join a couple ski clubs who did backcountry day trips. They really knew the local conditions. When we ventured into serious avy terrain, our backup was trailing a long red perlon line: the idea was that it would make it easier to recover your body after an avalanche.
