Looking for a route that would be a good option to test some new gear, and provide a little conditioning, in advance of true snowshoeing season I ended up on Mowich Lake. Hiking Partner (HP) and I got a little more than we bargained for on the conditioning front. Someone had set tracks to ~2 miles up the road and turned around. That left us to break trail for the last 2 miles. We had the lake to ourselves and enjoyed a very short lunch break before heading home on our (freshly set) snowshoe super highway.
The road was clear up until about 3600 feet and turned into compact/snow slush up until the gate. Right now, it's drivable in any decent clearance 4WD.
