I don't recall ever stopping by here on the way to the Paradise area. Very sad news. Sincere condolences to her friends, family, and loved ones. The viewpoint overlooks the Nisqually River--about halfway between Longmire and the main visitor center at Paradise. A Google Maps link. The street view guy can be dragged to one of two photos at the lookout point. The farthest one west gives a perspective on the terrain there. Could be hazardous especially if one were to step up or over that low wall. I would imagine there was plenty of snow there perhaps covering the wall. ~z

My understanding is that they had a young dog on a leash that wiggled free and was running loose and the woman in process of chasing after the dog fell over the cliff
