This is a short atmospheric video clip on Twitter. I wish I knew how to post it so that the video shows and not a link. Beautiful setting, somewhat monochromatic, and peaceful. ~z

You see plenty of people doing speaking impressions, I think singing impressions are even more impressive. A few of the bands in this video I don't even know, but the bands I do know I think she did a fairly good job with. She totally nailed Flyleaf, Icon For Hire and Paramore.

I'm pretty sure I have heard this being used for sound effects, without ever knowing what it was. My uncle showed me this, I was blown away.

Yes! It was used in several films--particularly in The Day The Earth Stood Still in 1951. Here's a short clip with theremin music. ~z

Ahh... yes... the theramin... employed by composer Bernard Hermann for the score of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) as well as Jimmy Page later on.
Hermann, like Ennio Morricone, another innovator who wasn't afraid of using non-conventional "instruments", significantly changed the way music was written for films.

As a Seahawks fan I can sympathize a little. Warning: bad language.

Wow, never heard of a theramin, that is really cool!
Here is another one in the "how the heck do they make that sound?" category:
