I suppose it was rude of me to post this thread, and then never follow-up with my trip.
Anyway, I ended up going up Buck Creek Pass, taking the PCT around the north side of Glacier Peak, and then getting picked up on Mountain Loop Highway near Bedal.
There was a decent amount of haze which unfortunately obscured some of the views, but otherwise great trip Not too many people, despite it being the long holiday weekend.

Cool. Thanks for letting us know.
So you were dropped off at Trinity, went over Buck Creek Pass, picked up the PCT and followed it south to the North Fork of the Sauk, then exited that way -- is that right?

You don't go over La Bohn Gap to get to Williams Lake

If you were coming from the Necklace Valley and crossed La Bohn gap and descended the far side of La Bohn Gap you would end up at Williams Lake.
This thread is about cool point to point routes starting on HWY-2

That's weird because we did exactly that. Take a closer look at a map.
Halfway through a trip from U.S. 2 up the Necklace Valley, over LaBohn Gap and down the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. Then up the back way to Snow Lake and out to Alpental and I-90.

La bohn gap goes towards mt hinman to the east. From necklace valley you go south to wiiliams lk then lake ivanhoe or middle fork.

Look here's the deal. Some believe theres 2 La Bohn gaps up there. Most believe there is only one. Between necklace and Williams. But every now and then you get these guys talkin' bout the other one. It becomes very confusing but that is the deal with these La Bohn gaps.
Differing schools of thought.

That's better because you have to go below La Bohn Gap. Then would have to drop down to Chain Lakes, Williams, etc.

Thanks for clearing up that bugaboo Randito. Took my skis up there in early spring in 81 or 82 skied hinman, and had a great fire with some mining timbers and remember some cans of beans and catsup in a cabin. Great low impact outing.

A lot of the links on that old thread no longer work. It turns out that the USGS and Forest Service Maps have LeBohn Gap in the "wrong" place (the gap between Chain Lakes and Lake Rowena) while the "TF Outdoors" map has it right (the gap between Necklace Valley and Chain Lake). TF is short for Thunderforest.
