No, not the regular kind of dog fight. But the Korean War type with aircraft. Yes, you need a permit to walk on the meadow from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to avoid harming the meadow. The DNR, however, thinks that having aerial dog fights above the Natural Area Preserve and people walking in the meadow to film the dog fights is an appropriate use of a Natural Area Preserve!!! The filming is scheduled for next week January 19th through the 21st. If your interested in Korean War aircraft be sure to show up and view the festivities. BUT, whatever you do!!! Do NOT walk on the meadow and hurt the Natural Area Preserve!!! Only film crews from California are allowed to do that on the Natural Area Preserve. Here is information from the California film company. Dear resident, The Feature Film, “Devotion”will be filming scenes in your area. Our work is currently scheduled from Jan 19th-21st, 2021. Our work is solely aerial work and will consist of planes and helicopters flying at lower altitudes than normal. Some of these will be picture aircrafts thatwill look different than the normal aircrafts you see today. Others will be rigged with various camera equipment.Per FAA safety guidelines, we will not have any low flying aircraftswithin 500 ft of any non-participating persons and/or occupied homes. That being said, you may hear louder than normal flight paths throughout the daytime while we are present in your area. However, this will only be taking place during daylight hours. There will be no noise disruption throughout the night. Attached is the area in which the aircrafts will be flying over. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at the information below. Samantha IdelsonUnit Location Manager Email: Samantha.idelson@gmail.com Cell: (443) 926-3926

Is this the Camas Meadows off of Blewett pass? If so, how things have changed! Our 4H horse group had a big campout there. Later, there was a cross-country ski race. Hmmmm.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Yes, it is. The DNR stopped all those activities to "protect" the meadow for scientific purposes. The Korean War movie is a scientific purpose???

https://deadline.com/2021/01/devotion-christina-jackson-cast-war-movie-sicario-la-la-land-black-label-1234671891/ From plot description it sounds as there would be quite a bit of on-ground activity. Would deep snow prevent any impact on the meadows? Best.

Don’t trust 509, he is ranting and raving but not being accurate. The meadows are being protected because they are home to two endangered plants. Secondly, his own post says this will be Only Aerial Work. Flying over the meadows should not harm them. Nowhere does the info he provided back up his claim that people will be walking in the meadow. It says the exact opposite. Pyrites, your link says production is starting in Georgia. No need for snow to cover meadows here.

A quick look on the web says this entire movie is being shot around Savannah, Georgia.

The planes have been flying around that area. I have friends who have been watching them from their house which is up the Blewett Pass highway a bit and off it. The weather has been clear the last few days so it should have been good filming.

The Wenatchee World facebook page has a blurb about the planes.

Kind of. The airports are on the outskirts of East Wenatchee. There were a few pictures and blurbs in the Wenatchee World. A few Wenatchee folks were getting tired of the noise.
