This article will provide some answers but some questions remain unanswered. But canids also roll on carcasses. Are they masking their own scent or what? https://www.wellbeingintlstudiesrepository.org/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1043&context=acwp_ena

A handsome pair, those two! Thanks for continuing to share these, BPG!

And you're putting up these cams in the Teanaway region, right? If so, that's the first I have heard of any moose in that area. I'm no wildlife expert though. I have heard of them up in the Pasaytan. Is that pretty rare to see a moose in the Teanaway?

Yes it's a rare occurrence. I've seen years 2011 & 2013 photo evidence of a bull moose in the Teanaway

Not in Teanaway, but there was a moose wondering near Scenic Hot Springs (west of Stevens Pass) around powerlines back in 2011. Moose are weird, they are rare, but once in a while they seem to be in places nobody expects them. http://scenichotsprings.blogspot.com/2011/09/caution-moose-on-property.html
