No new snow here in the upper midwest, but it was -27F this morning when I went out to get wifey some grapes and blackberries. 😳

Radar shows Snohomish County is getting dumped on. I suspect I-5 is nasty through there. Still snowing NE of Redmond. If we don't have a foot of snow then we are close to it. https://mappingsupport.com/p2/gissurfer.php?center=47.854326,-122.200928&zoom=8&basemap=USA_basemap&overlay=USA_weather_radar,County,ESRI_roads_and_labels&txtfile=https://mappingsupport.com/p2/special_maps/disaster/USA_rain_flood.txt

9-10" North Seattle. Tried skiing but it is too late. The snow has turned to sticky garbage as it is still 30-31 degrees at the surface but drizzle/freezing drizzle/freezing drizzle mixed with moist snow is falling. Must be warmer 1000' up.

I am on a break from shoveling snow off the stairs and walkway. This is hard work. The snow is easily 8 inches or more. I've seen lots of folks sledding, several skiers and snowboarders on the West Seattle hill today. Plenty of folks are getting out and enjoying the snow. I've heard that Lincoln Park is very busy today as well. ~z

The map I posted with weather radar seems to be remarkably accurate. We were under green for awhile and had heavy snow. Then the snowfall greatly diminished and the map showed the green area had moved north. Now we are back in the green and it is snowing harder again.

Some fun facts as of 3pm and at 1,000 feet in the Sultan foothills it has warmed up to 25! We had two records according to my little weather station last night, a low temp of 21 and a wind gust of 28mph. It’s too windy for much accumulation of snow, thankfully we only have a few inches on the ground. Wind still E/SE consistently 10 mph with higher gusts.

Been around zero or just below here in North Idaho. I have been saying to the locals, "Do you know what we call this weather in ND?". A heat wave.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Climbed up to Lake Serene this morning and this normally crowded hike was just the two of us. The snow is light and powdery so it was actually easy going but not knowing what was under it was the challenge. My lower back was sore when we got back down to the car. There was maybe 4"-6" in the parking lot and over a foot easily up by the lake. It was still snowing hard and there is a large tree down on the trail near the top due to the high winds. Great day overall and we only say maybe three groups of people. I love bad weather.
