Paradise topped 200" today, and Baker is not that far behind - perhaps tomorrow. Stevens - where it is raining - has a lot of snow at 4700'. Washington Pass, Snoqualmie, and White Pass also have a lot of snow. Considering it is still mid-February with peak depths typically April 1st to 15th, pretty impressive. I wonder how much snow there is at 6500-7000'.
Mission had six hours with wind gusts over 100 today, topping at 118; White Pass had over 100 mph gusts for 4 straight hours earlier.

Due to rain, winds, and temps >40 overnight, I lost 2.5 feet of snowpack in the last 24 hours. I am at 3000 ft, milepost 10 up the Icicle

Once the water hits Icicle Creek it runs into the Wenatchee river, then into the Columbia river, then into the Pacific Ocean.

That is not surprising as the low elevation east side snowpacks were low density, rotten snow.

The good thing, IMO, is that we're getting the snow mid-winter instead of late March/April like some of the recent years. The temp changes are also more what I think of as 'normal' and help consolidate the base into something more stable and lasting for spring skiing and summer mountaineering and reduced fire hazard in August.

Had the pleasure of driving from Nason Creek to Bellingham via Snoqualmie Pass yesterday. Haven't driven through rain like that in a long, long time. Lots of snow above 3500'-400' obviously but what a dismal winter for low elevation snowpack much less for maintaining sanity here in town. Anyone else sick of rain yet?
