Saw a FoS Turkey Vulture over Kitsap Peninsula today! Just checked the UW Northwest Radar and this is the first evening that bloom is occurring, and is widespread.

First Rufous hummer was just at the feeders! Two weeks earlier than what (used to be) the usual arrival around March 15th.

Supposed to be in the 50's this week at about 2500' in the Idaho Selkirks.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Hutton's vireo singing. A pair of sapsuckers flirting around an apple tree. Chorus frogs now singing some nights...

Huge bloom tonight on the radar! Song sparrows and Red-winged blackbirds singing today. Rufous hummer numbers at the feeders growing daily.

I drove by Lake Sammamish State Park today to get pictures of a large nest where my naked eye saw a bird presumably resting on its eggs. I thought the bird would be an eagle or maybe an osprey. The zoom lens clearly showed a Canada goose some 30+ ft in the air on its nest. Huh? I am amazed at the brazen courage it will take for the goslings to jump off to reach the ground after hatching.

UW Northwest Radar Night after night, week after week, for almost two months now wings overhead, heading north. Amazing.
