I'm going to Winthrop for some cross country skiing this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find GPX or KML files for the winter trails. The Methow Tails website has great downloadable pdf trail maps and they have an awesome app, but my navigation preference is CalTopo. Other tips and recommendations for the area also welcomed!

Dunno but they're marked on one of the Gaia map layers. I can share GPX from covering some Methow trails but I don't think that data would be very useful. It's hard to get lost, the are maps with "you are here" dots at just about every trail junction.

Okanogan county has an FTP site where you can download a trails.zip file No clue what the file format will be when you unzip. ftp://24.181.140.100/GIS/ That county does not seem to have an online GIS server that the public can access.

Yeah you really can't get lost. They are wide groomed trails with signed junctions and large-format maps posted at most junctions. Although I get tracking yourself can be fun. (btw, I will be there too this weekend, yay)

The Methow Trails app? Yeah but it does not use GPS. You can't pinpoint your location or track yourself with it.

Try the TF Outdoors map baselayer in CalTopo. It has the Methow XC trails. Or at least most of them. I'm not seeing a section of the community trail, for one.
