biggrin.gif Hey, I'm allowed to take non-selfies! People had been teasing me about my red jacket, so I decided to not put it on this time. Mistake! I'm pretty hard to see in that second last photo.

Reliably shows around the last week of Feb. A week late this year due to a bit below normal temps.

^ Nice! Is that the same bird captured in burst mode, or four different ones? A swirl from the weekend:

It's a single shot - camera isn't that fancy... Whoa 25 sec exposure, don't you guys have wind back east? smile.gif

We do, and it was really blowing hard that day...20mph gusts. I just waited for a slight lull and got lucky. (I was also careful to keep most of the rhododendron bushes out of the frame.) To make matters worse it was raining. This photo was taken from under an umbrella, but the sideways rain made things tricky. I kept my lens cap on, and when the wind died down a bit, took it off and quickly fired off the shot. Despite this I had to clean a couple of raindrop globs off the photo in postprocessing. All this because I wanted to capture that eddy of frothy water.
