This! https://chinookjargon.com/2018/10/02/whiskey-dick-howd-that-name-happen/ "A Wenatchee (Columbian Salish) Indian “Whiskey Dick“, who was the brother of Tenas [‘Little’] George died in 1907. A place named Whiskey Dick Bar nearby is likely connected with him (1908)." Tenas George has been discussed before on this forum, and a member who was a descendent of his even showed up to comment, but I can't find that thread now. Perhaps that person could shed more light on Whiskey Dick.

I thought this was a condition, not a person.

Kitchen Dick is named from 2 of the pioneer families from out this way. Heard a rumor that they named it that way on purpose lol. We also have Woodcock road and Hooker road.

Kitchen-Dick has a hyphen, not named for one person. The corner of Kitchen-Dick and Woodcock is no doubt the most photographed intersections in the state - who doesn't have a photo of that! There's even a vegetationally-denuded divot where people pose under the sign. smile.gif

I have a photo of the intersection of I-666 and a street named for a family relative in Gallup New Mexico Yee Haw.
