Kurt Smith and I went up to the North Cascades last week for star shots. We wound up staying up on two nights in succession, sandwiched around day hikes up to the ridge beside the Early Winters Spires and the Cutthroat Lake trail to Cutthroat Pass. I'm feeling the effects of that today!

^ That meadow was my favorite spot to photograph Liberty Bell from, especially in spring with all the snowmelt streams. Nice shot! up.gif Here's one more waterfall shot from the weekend (while I no longer get to enjoy the Washington's awesome mountain views, I do get to spend more time amongst waterfalls):

I took a walk in the rain up to Barclay Lake and thrashed around in wet brush and over slippery rocks. Met a young woman who went swimming and pronounced the water "not as cold as I thought it would be."

It's become incredibly lush on the east coast this spring:

Can there be anything cuter than the tiny black-capped chickadee?

This last winter I went through a lot of my digital photos to refresh my memory of what I had stored on my external hard drives. I picked out several of my favorites and re-edited them in Lightroom. The one above was one of those pictures.
