Took the last ride for years on this trail today. Tomorrow it is scheduled to be closed in places until fall 2023. Too bad as it is fine now. The unsaved section will be paved with gravel sections on both sides. Seems like a waste of resources to me but we tried.

The gravel section was great to ride if you are a fitbit or other step count tracker wearer. The four miles of gravel would record more steps than the other 17 miles of riding a loop around Lake Sammamish.
The paving will be nice though and one of the other good things for cyclists will be that the paving process will remove all the encroachments on the right of way that adjacent property owners have constructed over the decades, so not only will the path be smooth, the narrow spots will be wider.
