Been sifting through old pictures. I liked this one and thought I would post it here.

How hard can it be to read a map? Even butterflies can do it…

The photography suggestions thread made me think of this picture. A muddy section of the trail had this bubble filled mossy grassy area right next to it. I couldn't see all this detail, but it looked green and interesting, so I held the camera a couple inches away from it and took 2 "macro" shots. The auto setting on the camera correctly recognized my intent (this time) and focused correctly. It's not the typical austere grandeur of the Cascade peaks. But those bubbles! A little green universe all to itself, about 2 inches wide

Recent threads about the NCNP fires (which may cancel my NCNP plans for July) got me going through photos. Here are a couple from the Hidden Lake trail in 2019. These were about finding out how small an aperture I could use to keep everything in focus (RX100) without getting distortions or fringing effects and probably violate some rule about confusing the eye with near and distant subjects but I like them anyway.

Sunrise over middle Sweeney lake wind river range. Very rare pic for me to be up at first light. One reason was to be able to pack up before the mozzies awoke!

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

You broke the rule of 1/3rds smile.gif but I like the horizon in the center for reflection photos like that. Nice.

OK GaliWalker, Somebody is going to have to explain how this is a "selfie" to me. I can accept that it could be you in the photo but did you really trigger the sensor from that far away? And if so I want to know how.
