Their latest album is all over the place musically. Several songs feature guest musicians. One is with Tom Morello, so it pretty much sounds like Audioslave. This one includes Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron, so it's got a heavy Soundgarden vibe going (common thread between those 2 bands is Chris Cornell of course).

Short and snappy. Beats and a cool video. Loving the red, blue, and green dancers. ~z

Sergeant Pepper on vinyl, first record I ever bought. While reading Utopia Avenue.

Hadn't heard this song for quite a while, it was featured in a movie I watched earlier today. Goofy video. Keep an eye out for a couple fairly big name actors from the 80s.

This duo had something special. Too bad they were short lived.

This has been out for about a month, but I just heard it recently. Appropriate light and breezy summer song. She's only 24 but she's already been doing this music biz thing for quite a while.

Got tickets to see her at the Tractor in October. New album drops in August. Here's something from a couple years ago. I have a feeling she brings a lot of energy to a live show.

Interesting group, did you know they were locked in an attic in Seattle for their early years. Their first album was unavailable for years. Choose your promoter with care.

I kind of remember hearing about this. Just looked it up. Here's the Wiki entry and a quote: Although they were one of the notable San Francisco bands to emerge from 1967's Summer of Love, the band never achieved the success of contemporaries such as Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Santana, with whom they had connections. The band created a unique blend of rock, jazz, folk, classical, and world-beat styles during its first seven years. ... The band's signature song "White Bird" was inspired by the experiences David and Linda LaFlamme had while living in Seattle. In an ironic twist on the band's name, the sad song was partly inspired by Seattle's rainy winter weather. In a later interview, David LaFlamme said: "Where the 'white bird' thing came from...We were like caged birds in that attic. We had no money, no transportation, the weather was miserable. We were just barely getting by on a very small food allowance provided to us. It was quite an experience, but it was very creative in a way."[1] ... The band's debut album It's a Beautiful Day was produced by David LaFlamme in Los Angeles, California and released by Columbia Records in 1969. ... I had that album and it got destroyed in a flood while in storage at college. frown.gif On July 5, 1970, the band played the second Atlanta International Pop Festival in Byron, Georgia to an estimated 250,000 people. I got to attend this concert (The Second Atlanta International Pop Festival) down in hot, muggy Georgia. I saw them perform along with Jimi Hendrix, Richie Havens, Allman Brothers, Rare Earth, and others. It was my first time at a big rock concert. This was the summer following Woodstock. Quite an experience I tell you. ~z
