Saw this yesterday on the Grand Pass trail in the Olympics. Is this a baby grouse?

I don't have an ID for you, but I'm almost certain it's not a baby grouse.

Definitely not a grouse. Although I don't see the field marks in this photo, given the habitat it is in I think it is a water pipit.

It would be a juvenile Horned Lark. It doesn’t quite have the markings to be an American Pipit. Grand Pass would be a good habit to see an American Pipit though.
