I hiked to Lake Serene recently, and from there I saw an area of recovering burnt woodland. Thanks to CalTopo's "Fire History" overlay I think its the area near Proctor Creek. There is also a height there labeled only "TOC Rock". I don't know what that means.
I would love to see that area, but I can't find any trails there on the WTA website. Has anyone hiked there? I would love to hear your stories!
That's super interesting!
The page mentions that bushwhacking is needed. I wonder if the area is closed to the public because bushwhackers would disrupt the ecosystem's recovery? Even if the peak itself is not accessible I wonder if there's old roads in the wider Procter Creek area that could be used as trails?
