Well, I was all set to start a trip out of Salmon la Sac tonight when I see this report of new fires in the Cle Elum area: https://pasayten.com/bb/download/file.php?id=395&mode=view I left a message with the Cle Elum Ranger office but starting to think about alternate plans. This is the only small mention I can find of these fires so far. Has anyone else heard about these?

More info: "The Polallie Fire, a mile northeast of Cooper Lake and 19 miles northwest of Cle Elum in Kittitas County. One squad of firefighters is assigned." https://www.yakimaherald.com/news/local/people-asked-to-avoid-bumping-lake-area-because-of-new-wildfire-west-of-nile/article_306c34c3-bfea-5b54-a635-5fbbeea0357a.html

I can’t see any smoke plumes from down here on the Prairie. Mount Stuart is visible right now for the first time in several days.

Yeah, it sounds like they're still small, under 1/10 of an acre. Talked to the main Okanogan-Wenatchee HQ and found out there is also a fire to the SE of Cooper Lake. She recommended that I call the Cle Elum Ranger office, which I did, and she seemed surprised that they didn't answer, saying that maybe they're busy with fire stuff. "The Stave Fire, about 2 miles southeast of Cooper Lake and 17 miles northwest of Cle Elum in Kittitas County. A squad of firefighters and an engine are assigned." Ranger also mentioned windy conditions in the next few days, which won't help.

Well, end of thread, I guess, as I finally talked to a Cle Elum ranger and she says both fires are "contained and controlled" as of last night. Whew.
