I made sort of a music video of our 100-mile, 6-day section hike: Etna Summit to Castle Crags. We each kept a running list of ailments as we're 59 (Sally) and 61 (Weezie/Katinka), but so worth it! 17-mile/day average.
To save weight, we brought my old Snowpeak, but since it proved less efficient than a Jetboil, we ran out of fuel on Day 4. Happily, when we crossed a dirt road, some people there were waiting on a PCTer, and one of them gave me a canister with the sole request: Enjoy!
Because we were traveling SOBO, and because they had all been bussed / had hitched past the Dixie fire, we crossed paths with literally hundreds of PCT thru-hikers, but saw no other SOBOs (actually, more like EBOs -->).
Seasonal creeks all bone dry. The whole area is oven-hot and tinder dry. :'(
