Thinking about traveling out to Walput Lake tomorrow (8-25), camping at Sheep Lake near the PCT, then climbing Gilbert Peak. Does anyone know if access and air quality in that area is currently wildfire affected? Thank you

You may have better results going to WTA.org and looking at recent trip reports for this area.

I have been watching the area fairly closely, remotely (I'm in Boston), in anticipation of some upcoming time around MRNP (trying to decide whether to make the trip or not). It is highly variable day to day, with the nearby smoke from the Schneider fire. If you actually went today, it was probably OK, as near as I can tell. West wind blows the smoke away from Goat Rocks, and they have been in general pretty clear. So far this week anyway
