Here is a fascinating video of the Dixie Fire:
The fire is burning in lower elevation pine forest. You can see that the forest is open and the scattered trees are healthy, although rather slow-growing. There is very little downed wood, but plenty of highly inflammable manzanita. You can drive through this type of forest for hours in this area.
