I am thinking low to mid gaiters for this, either with shorts or with the pant OUTSIDE the gaiter, but I will entertain all suggestions

gaiters or just avoid trails with blueberry bushes.

OR Crocodiles solve a number of issues like this. Their Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters should also be up to this task.

Take along some clippers and do some pruning of the bushes. Shrubbery can be managed.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Even with rain pants outside your gaiters, and even that plus OR crocs, the blueberry bushes will still win! Wet brush is far worse than rain!
