The one description make it sound like he was downhill immediately below that short sharp ridge between Six Ridge and Mount Olson-Seven Stream hill. I’ve turned around there twice as it was snow covered, beyond my abilities, and the drop towards Seven Stream long and steep. To my eye it didn’t look it would be bad if the snow was gone. Is it somewhat perilous if wet? ….. I count as one of the stupidest backcountry things I ever did was after turning away from Mt Olson was decision to go straight over top of Six Ridge and cut trail, instead of taking easy old trail back to junction with Six Ridge trail. But that’s another story. ed. note. In this context stupidest, not most stupid, is correct. Why? I deem it so.

Looking at the coordinates on the USCG video, I think he was at 47.57210, -123.41870.

That would put him east of Mt. Olson and north of Seven Stream. Maybe a couple thousand feet south of point 4961.

Probably why they had to air lift him out. He is one lucky hiker considering the weather.
