Decided to check out the new snow for a change, got my ski gear ready and headed to Paradise on Monday. There wasn't much snow below 7k', but enough to put skins on around Panorama Point. I ran into TAY friends who came from Wenatchee for their September turns, this was their 11th year of skiing every single month without skipping any. I'm not that dedicated, just an opportunistic skier who skis about 10 moths of a typical year. Anyway we three were the first skiers on the fresh snow on this day. There were old tracks under the 2~4" of dense but dry snow, I guess some skiers were desperate to hit the freshes last weekend. We skied the 1st run together from 8k' down to Pebble Creek on dense but creamy new snow. These two friends had to call it a day since they had a puppy in their car, but left happy. I then went back up to about 9.5k' above which the new snow was wind swept still exposing icy old snow. Overall skiing was quite good, pretty typical for Sept. It seems to happen every other year or so. Also it was great to finally meet those online ski friends and to actually ski together.

St Helens and Goat Rocks looked white, the storm dumped more snow in the south?

I've seen recent pictures of Adams and Hood, I would say that is correct.

What a fun day for you, Kenji and beautiful pictures as always! I was up at Sunrise yesterday and happy to see lots of fresh snow on all the volcanoes from Mt. Baker down to Mt. Adams, and Goat Rocks too!

Or the fact you were looking at it from a northern aspect. I viewed Mt Hood from the south over the weekend and it just looked like a mere dusting.
