Here's a few I watch consistently. These are some of the more popular channels on Youtube and none are based in the PNW, but they have overall interesting information and combined they've covered a lot of ground thru-hiking. https://www.youtube.com/c/DarwinOnthetrail https://www.youtube.com/c/HomemadeWanderlust https://www.youtube.com/c/JustinOutdoors

Can you describe further? Day hikes, backpacks, country, region, elevation, alpine, off-trail or on, etc. Backpacking: MyOwnFrontier

Hikeart does lots of local unspoiled places. I don't really watch a lot of the larger personality-oriented ones but I did follow Second Chance Hiker for his PCT adventure before things got... weird. I follow a handful of local accounts I found through this forum too.

Backpacking: MyOwnFrontier
Can second a rec for MyOwnFrontier: I like his low budget approach and he visits a number of interesting locations.

I like Outside & Stuff because of all the local coverage. A bit corny but nice to see the hikes we remember again and some that we have missed. https://www.youtube.com/user/MrWhiskeyBones I think they have stopped publishing new videos now though.

This is correct. I forget where but awhile back they shared a post about how they didn’t like the way filming changed the dynamic of their hikes (paraphrasing, I don’t remember the exact reason). They still share photos on their Instagram account though. I was sad to see the videos stop but it’s understandable.

That actually makes me feel a lot better. I remember seeing something about privacy and thought something bad had happened that made them decide to take down the site. If I remember correctly none of the videos were available at one point before they made them available again. My kids crossed paths with them once and enjoyed seeing them. I can sure understand how it would affect the dynamic - I can't imagine going through all that on a hike.

Great idea for a topic! I don't actually have any specific sites to recommend, but I've had good results going to Youtube and just typing in "backpacking". If you get too many commercial hits, you can modify the search to "backpacking -REI" or similar.

Been watchin' the Baird Brothers, who are major players in the ultra heavy scene. They brute force their way upstream and bushwack dense forests with kayaks and several large barrels of gear for 25 day trips. They travel FORCEFULLY. The ultra heavy scene has been steadily gaining in popularity in backpacking circles over the last decade. Ya got experts in the field saying it might overtake ultra light by 2030. The Baird Brothers are ultra-heavy.

I was held captive by Dixie on the pct. She has a neat way of bringing it to the tube. Thought maybe you would like to this....
