250's nothing. you get down in the deep deserts, the deep mojave, you get guys hitting 330 on some of those straightaways.
Thanks Brun. I never said any of this was smart. I'm also pretty sure I'm not the only person on this board that has done dumb things in their youth. I'm honest about my stupidity. But was it ever fun! I'm pretty sure the Reno air races aren't all that smart, nor I'm sure is free soloing big walls! Human being push the limits all the time. I got my first motorcycle when I was four. I've ridden ever since. Until I lost my eye sight that is. now i'm selling my Harley Davidson. LOL.

I feel so inferior, the fastest I have gone on a bike is 120 mph, from one end of the Broadway bridge over the Snohomish river to the other on my Sons Honda 929, it was just picking up speed. My friends grandson was just killed on the same bridge heading north about a month ago on a bike when he was sideswiped by a car at about 1 am, he ended up in the river. RIP.
Im so sorry to hear that CJ. There'[s no question street bikes are dangerous, mostly from other drivers that dont see them. In low polulated areas they are as safe as your judgement.

This testosterone flex fest is really something else. I'm all for people doing whatever they want as long as it doesn't harm other people. Driving over 100-200+ mph on a highway with other cars is nothing to brag about no matter how old you are/were. Just look at recent events - former NFL player Henry Ruggs killed an innocent woman in Las Vegas driving 156 mph on city streets. And no, it wasn't a quick death for her - she was pinned in her vehicle and burned alive. Really not impressed by the chest thumping over reckless and selfish behavior down.gif

I hiked the Lakeshore Trail from Prince Creek to Stehekin in two days once, then took a Chelan Seaplane back in twenty minutes. eek.gif

My colleague is certainly a candidate for a "I don't drive fast, I fly low" bumper sticker. Not that people that pour several hundred thousand into a car adorn it with bumper stickers. Of course the real speed fiend from that team has a Piper Tomahawk not an Audi R8. But he and the mother of his children get along so he has no need to child care swapping between Redmond and Twisp.

When I was 17 or so I drove my parents '71 Plymouth Fury station wagon fast enough to bury the needle. 140 was the last number. I580 between Dublin and Livermore at like 2am. Some time in the late 70's.
Foolish kid...

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.

Back then, I drove a Volvo at 54 mph. Now I drive a Prius at 59 mph. It's nice all by myself in the right lane.

You should always COMPETE on the road. You're either winning or losing upon these roads. Drive like you're not afraid to get in an accident!!!!
