Hi all....just a heads up that if you're downtown at Seattle Public Library....go to the ninth floor and spend some time(probably hours...) looking at all the cool maps. Make sure and look at the 'superceded' maps from the past....that's where I dug up the 1923 version of the Colockum Pass map showing the old schools, ferries etc. A valuable resource for all. Most western states are represented with complete USGS topo sets and Washington and Oregon Green trails etc. There are some more eclectic maps too. Perhaps, if the librarian isn't too busy, they'll show you some of the rarer maps that they keep in the back rooms. I saw an 1898 map of Rainier National Park hand printed on cloth!!! Check it out...

Cool, they removed all references to the Oregon Hell Hole from the maps of the area. It is still on the old maps though. biggrin.gif

UW's map library also has a wonderful collection of the old 15' and even 30' topo maps.

I liked the little plastic maps that are kind of little replicas. See if you can find the mistakes on them.

no, no large scanner...but there is a great topo program(Terrain Navigator) that allows printing for a nominal fee...10 cents...I think you can get most any area and enlarge or zoom out for general maps...good resource...
