they are always ever so cute, they worm their way into your heart playful loviing and when they die they take it with them.
Had a gray female when I was a kid that got with the neighbors male. My brother and I were camping (backyard)
and around midnite here she came. I tucked her into my sleeping bag and a couple of hours later woke to find the bag wet, Thinking I had made a mess I flipped on the flashlight and unzipped the bag.
Holy smoke there were cats everywhere!!

Reminds me of our first cat ("Nap"), when I was a kid. She had a couple of litters before we got her fixed. The little ones were so cute growing up.

I'll post more of an update later, I'm going skiing shortly, but I think people in here will get a kick out of the names these kittens are getting.

Old Snowy looks like my cat when he was a kitten, he has white socks and long white whiskers. No matter what the cats original name I always morph it into something else. His original name was Dakota, then shortened to 'Coda....then my fave and what I usually call him, "Bearcat". He also like to get up on the back of my chair, so then I called him, my Collar Cat, which morphed into Carlos Cat. But when I call him to come to me it's Bearcat.

These kitty pics are really tempting, but I must resist. Home too small and one cat already rules the roost.

It's been a while and I wanted to update this thread. The kittens will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. They're getting so big!
I'm keeping a brother and sister. The neighbor is also keeping a pair, and mom, so mine will have regular visits. A friend of hers is taking a pair. The last one is spoken for too, but I'm very glad so many are getting to stay together with family. We noticed they're forming little kitten cliques, and we're keeping the ones with the strongest bonds together.
I have two cats already, Parsley is 20 and has been ignoring them. Bear is 7 and afraid of them. He watched one of them playing with a cat toy today, played a little with it, and lost some of his fear.
Oh hi Photo bomb Napping in the sun with a warm blanket Happy All of them love napping with people Godzilla These are the two I'm keeping, they each had a human hand blanket, but I needed a picture of this cuteness. Sapphire eyes Sahale being cute Kitten in sun Play buddies Stop I just caught the human! Winnie looking for nap spot Old Snowy. He'll grow into it.

It's time for an update.
The kittens will be 11 weeks old tomorrow. The largest, a giant, is 4 pounds, the rest are under 3. Pixie the momma cat has been spayed, weeks ago. All of the kittens went to the vet today - their first time out of the house - and got their shots. We're waiting for some lab work to give them a clean bill of health.
Conquering the waiting room
Tahoma will go to his forever home this weekend or early next week.
Tahoma (aka Rainier)
Cashmere and Silver Star will live together in Eastern Washington, their humans will come for them when it warms up. They don't want to risk the pass being closed and getting stuck with confused kittens in the car if the forecast is wrong. Better to just come next week.
Cashmere (Enchantments) Silver Star (Washington Pass)
Old Snowy and Sahale are coming next door to live with me. We're taking it slowly, my kitty Bear is afraid of them, but we've made a lot of progress. I work from next door, I get to see them all day, so I'm in no hurry.
Old Snowy (Goat Rocks) Sahale (North Cascades National Park)
Maya, my neighbor, is keeping Winthrop and Kulshan, as well as Pixie the mom. The kittens will be indoor cats, at least that's the plan, but Pixie misses being outdoors when it's sunny. She asks to go outside. Maya bought her a GPS collar. We've had her outside a few times now, on the ground on her own. She chooses to come back home. She is a spoiled, beloved pet now.
Pixie with most of the family including Winnie and Kulshan (Baker).

Thanks for sharing the photo updates, C-path. What a beautiful brood. Interesting how they all came out black (plus black w/white sox) despite momma being grey. Congrats re your new additions to the family.
