My Trapper Nelson Packboard isn’t used anymore but it is a keeper.

My old 1966 Trapper Nelson and my Daddy's 1936 model! Only difference? is snap closures on the old model and a zipper on the 1960's version. Both usable but just wall hangers now. Oldest piece of gear that I use now is my 1975 MSR stove which is on it's third pump. I still have the original instructions which include, " if operating this stove makes you uncomfortable please return it for a full refund". This blow torch has made me uncomfortable many times, but I would never return it. I spit on your fancy newfangled whisperlites!

I purchased my crampons at REI also back when REI was one room upstairs in a building on Pike Street.

Are you sure those are traction devices? The scale could be off but those look a lot like the tops I saw women on the back of Harleys wearing that we passed near Jackson, WY. a few years ago. smile.gif

Anyone else have a magnesium fire starter that is 20+years old and still has never been used?

I still have, and occasionally use, my old JanSport pack, from the early 80's I believe. Just to clarify, that's the 1980's, not the 1880s, alright? One of the shoulder straps broke in 2014. I sent it back to JanSport saying if they could fix it, great, if not, just send it back to me. They put a brand-new set of shoulder straps on it. At over 5 pounds, it's high weight-to-volume ratio isn't competitive, but it still has its spot on my basement wall.

Well, I still have my REI senior cruiser and use it, although I updated to my wife's we got 40 years ago. I has better pockets. My SVEA 123 is still going strong and is still in use. The carbide lamp I bought at REI in 1970 died, but I have a replacement I got off eBay. I have newer internal frame packs and they are comfortable, but they don't have pockets, and where do you put your sleeping bag?
