The geology in this is fascinating, but so are the narrator's pronunciations. The Tie-a-tun andesite flow made it to Natchez and Yahkeema? Pretty cool. Also Cow Itch. In fairness, I don't know that I've ever heard anyone speak the name of the river basin to the east of White Pass. I've always assumed it sounds like the mountains between Jackson, WY and Yellowstone, but could be wrong. Watch, maybe I'm getting some others wrong too.

I had read about the Tieton Andesite Flow via Cowiche Canyon, where it's rock is visible primarily on the north rim. The rock on the south rim is predominately Columbia River basalts with an origin not far from Lewiston, ID. https://gsa.confex.com/gsa/2016AM/webprogram/Paper287317.html The geology of the Mt. Aix caldera is very complex with a wide variety of different rock colors which affect the botany in the area.

Local pronunciations are foul mistress. Pronouncing Puyallup is also notoriously tricky too. In other regions of the country.. how would you pronounce the town of Cairo, IL? Hint: It's not like the city in Egypt.

Thanks for posting the interesting video! His pronunciation of Tieton is correct. Naches and Yakima, not so much.

This isn't a photo from the Goat Rocks, or is it?
