I am wondering. I just got a Markill/Vaude Hot Rod stove and it says only use their fuel. I have heard from other places that it is just required by law to add something about the fuel. I would like to use the snowpeak fuel (smaller canister size). Does anyone have this stove and use different brand fuel? Does anyone have a different kind of stove and not use the recommend fuel? Thanks - Trick Knee

All of the cartridge stoves come with this warning. It's basically to protect the manufacturer from liability and to have you spend more with the same company. As long as any fuel cartridge has the same lindall valve, you can use it. I use all sorts of different fuel cartridges with my Pocket Rocket and my Coleman Micro.
