Had a great snowshoe up to the top of Keechlus ridge today, to start chipping away at the Homecourt 100. The following is a summary of the trip.
Left the Sno-park 1.5 miles west of exit 62 I-90 at 8:30am. Took Rd. 124 up to 3,200 ft. where we ran into a dead end, so wih map and compass headed uphill and at 3,400 ran into the other part of Rd. 124. It seems that some organization decided to discontinue the link between the upper and lower roads. From here followed the road up a ways and headed cross-country to the Jct. with Rd. 4934 at 4,300 ft. Headed on a bearing of 60 degrees up to the Radio tower biscecting Rd. 4934 a few times for a much needed break at the tower. Headed on a bearing of 140 degrees for 1/2 hour to the top of Pt. 5,151. Retraced track back down. Not alot of views with the clouds but a great cool, dry day with great snow for snowshoeing. Stats- not sure on mileage, 2,600 ft. gain, with casual lunch breaks 4 hrs. up 3 hrs. down.
