I'm trying to locate topics dealing with waterproofing shoes. In particular, Obenauf's. When I do a search for Obenauf's I get nothing. I know it's hiding somewhere as this is where I first heard of it. Could someone please give me a clue.
PS This also matches my ability to search with Google. Zilch for returns.
Thanks
It's pretty safe to say that if we take all of man kinds accumulated knowledge, we still don't know everything. So, I hope you understand why I don't believe you know everything. But then again, maybe you do.

Done been there. I was looking more for the discussion on it as well as Nikwax and Sno Seal. Seems like I remember one as possibly being hard on threads.

Try entering "waterproofing boots" I found some threads (ooh bad pun) here. I'm just now using some Sno Seal on some suede leather work boots after treating the stitching and welt with Seam Grip brand urethane seam sealer. FWIW the Sno Seal tube says it doesn't harm stitching, I've never had an issue with it harming anything and I had some old Raichle mountaineering boots for 20 years hold up great while using it frequently. I don't think Sno-Seal is oil-based is it ? (in one of those threads someone said frequent use of oil based Nikwax or Sno Seal breaks down stitching, etc. More like beeswax-based I thought.
