As anyone done Mount Si in early early morning? I went up yesterday morning about 7am and was thinking that the view of Mt. Rainer with the sunset on a clear morning would be unbelievable. I know if I wanted to I could climb up the day before and camp?
Many years back I did hike up and spend the night. Back then there were two (As I recall) campsites and a crude toilet. The sunset was great. Now that it is the Mt Si Recreation Area camping is no longer allowed.
One can always set up the camera on a pod and wait for the sunset or sunrise spending the night in warm clothes without camping providing the weather good to warm (have a friend drop you off so you leave no car if you want) then retreat after you have gained your photo you want.
