Way to go Miss. Karen. Did you enjoy yourself? Tell us about it. TB

For Backpacker Joe & anyone else who's interested
Yes. I did enjoy. Wanted to write more about it but didn't have enough time to write it up. Actually we just snowshoed around the campground and did a short piece of the Cooper River trail. I went with the Everett Parks and Recreation so I didn't have to drive but it made a long day. I left Seattle at 6:00 am and didn't get home until 7:30 pm last night. I did enjoy the sun and the sparkling snow but the lack of snow cast a shadow over the day for me. There are huge, bare patches of ground -- moats around the trees and rocks and scanty snow on Red Mountain and other peaks nearby. This is going to be a challenging summer for people living on the east side in terms of water/irrigation, etc. However, the snowshoe trip itself was short and easy and it was good to be out and about. I've been working a hectic schedule (I have two part-time jobs essentially) and am recovering from a cold and a fall on the stairs. Fortunately I didn't break anything. I'll post some more photos -- the prettiest part of the trip (at least for me) was the short stretch along the Cooper River and the photos can't do it justice. Thanks for asking, Karen

No fighting
During the week the snomobilers are pretty quiet. We didn't run into any anywhere we snowshoed though we could hear a couple in the distance. I would not recommend snowshoeing near Salmon La Sac/Cooper River area on a weekend but during the week it's a different story. Karen
