If you want to get into multi-word aliases, here's some acronyms I see here a lot:
NF => National Forest
NP => National Park
NM => National Monument
FS / USFS = Forest Service
PS / USPS = Park Service
MRNP => Mount Rainier NP
otherwise:
park pk
fall fl
falls fl

Thanks, the multi word synonyms could result in a big list and probably wouldn't be used in a trip report search so let's limit it to single words for now. Also, 1 character words are not indexed by the search engine so don't worry about things like N, S, E, W (or combinations like NW). The main thing is to let someone searching for Twin Lakes find it via...
twin lk
twin lakes
twin lks
twin lake
twin loch
twin lochs

I put the loch in there for certain lakes like "Loch Katrine" which many people refer to as Lake Katrine and just so happens to be near Twin Peaks. There are several other examples like this but hopefully everyone gets the idea.
