Had some time Sunday morning, Pass was 35 and raining frown.gif . So we decided to act locally. Started from Issy HS to the junction with the Poo Poo Pint trail. Buds are just coming out on the Salmonberry with a moist pink touch of spring opening for all to see. The new bridge was enchanting, with the rain swollen stream throbbing through the gates of the rocky way. We climbed constantly through paths of brown moist mud until we finally broke through the stile to the convergence of the West Tiger Railroad Grade, and the One View Trail. We then climbed through the mists of fog lit by sunbeams above giving each tree a radiant halo of light. It seemed like the forests of middle earth. White shafts of sunlight thrust through the mirk. The lone view was shrouded in swirling skirts of mist. We soon climbed to the summit of a small rounded mass and descended into a brown and green fen. The intersection there was with the TMT noted by cryptic runes emblazoned on the trees. Now the way became obscure where visits were few and the way inclined and slippery. We wearied and had to stop for repast. The dries pears were sweet and chewy and we savored every drop as the saliva mixed with the sugary pearishness. The crevices held the last white drops of snow. There were many small streams with strange names surging below us. A blocked trail enticed us to West Summit. Emerging from the wood we came to the service road. A figure emerged from the mist and another, both asked if there was a way back to the High School. We said there was and tried to describe our route, they nodded and disappeared, never to be seen again. It is not that easy to return to childish things. Soon we emerged on the summit of TW2. The view was frighteningly beautiful. A series of rain veils approached from the south. A meal of Chevere with red ripe tomatoes on baguette followed. The goaty tang of the cheese mixed with the sweet red tomato juice to make a sensuous treat. Soon the veils came and with them a stinging touch of cold ice flung at our exposed skin. Enough was enough and we reluctantly donned Gore-Tex and proceeded down. A descent followed by a short abrupt push brought us t o the bare summit of WT3. We chose the often maligned Section Line to debauch off the mount. Down we plunged accelerating with each slippery step on the tread. The heat in our clothes became oppressive, with the dampness of our bodies writhing under our parkas in the filtered sun. All at once we stopped on a small flat and threw off the restraining garments. Liberated from the swampyness we arrived at the West Tiger Railroad grade yet once again. On down we plunged until we passed the once cliff where a clever route passed between two moss covered slippery rocks. Passing through the cleft we slid in the wet mud until we met the old road. Soon we passed but did not enter the route to the mysterious caves of Tiger, but we knew their ways. The grade lessened and became an abandoned road. At last we emerged onto the flat and completed the loop. All that remained was the last drop to IHS. Along the way a snake startled my partner. Narrowly she avoided killing the creature under her feet by a quick and clever move. A shower occurred by the field, then the heavens let loose one we got to the car. As we left the water on us steamed the windows.
