Yesterday I hiked in on the Queets Valley trail with my backpack pontoon boat. The trail is extremely muddy and there are numerous trees down. We were only in about five miles before we got sick of the blowdowns and headed for the river. Upon reaching the river we set up the boats and headed downstream. The Queets has changed dramatically as it does every year. The sun wasn't showing but at least the rain had let up for the trip. You have to understand that this is my job! I'm a Salmon Spawning Ground Surveyor for the Quinault Indian Nation. I've been a seasonal employee for them for the past five years now and I love the work. Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know about the trail. Oh, the river crossing at the trail head has changed and has gotten more difficult in my opinion. I'm stuck at work so I better get back shakehead.gif WrongBridge
