I don't have time to get reports and photos up now but here is are quick updates. The Lake Serene trail is snow free until just before the lake. The lake is snow covered still. Near the shore is largely snow free. Bridal Veil falls is very impressive. Plenty of water coming over the falls. This is not a great flower hike however we saw Trillium, Bleeding Heart, Skunk Cabbage, yellow Violets, and several others I can't name. No blow downs and surprisingly little mud. On East Rattlesnake it's almost snow free up to the final main road walk. A few patches before that can be easily avoided. On the road it is no more than about 6 inches deep. The summit is totally snow free. Oh, one more thing. Avalanches were coming down off of Mt. Index every 1 to 2 minutes. Some were very loud. Very entertaining to watch from the lake shore.
